I remember being a young teen watching your early videos with the robe on the back of your door, watching 15 days of foundation, years later I’m now a mum of three and rarely have time for makeup, and this notification randomly comes through. The nostalgia :’) the last videos of you I saw you had renovated your house to rent out whilst you travelled to Jordan etc. Amazing to see how far you’ve come! As someone with oily skin, the Covergirl Matte BB is STILL my go-to, since you recommended it years ago! Especially in the summer, as its the only one that doesnt melt off.
I apply with a brush, and use the sponge afterwards for a nice, non-cakey finish. I always set it with powder though. (I just found the Essence matte powder compact looks nice with it actually), or a loose powder if you need it to last all day, plus setting spray. It really lasts on me! On vacation i take 2 shades to mix for when i get more tanned 😊❤🏴

I love that Covergirl BB cream. It is one of my favorites for my oily skin in the summer because it's matte and lasts all day even in the heat! I find that a sponge does work better than a brush to apply in my opinion. Thanks for the video!😊
I'm 57 with dry skin and I seriously love that Joah BB cream. It is my go to foundation. I'm also in the shade Light with cool undertones and it's a perfect match for me. Joah really knocked it out of the park with that product - there new eyeshadow pallets are also really nice too!

I definitely recommend the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Perfector over their CC Cream. It’s a natural coverage skin tint with SPF!
I feel like I used that covergirl matte foundation in high school (2003ish) when I started getting wicked oily skin and it made such a difference!

Taylor thanks for the great review! I’ve bought several of the products you mention, like the bliss spf/tint/blurring primer. I feel like we have similar skin type, I also had acne, now dealing with the large pores and more dry skin. So it can be a challenge figuring out what goes underneath the foundation to prevent separation and not look heavy. Keep the primer recommendations coming. Take care on your adventures 🫶🏻
Taylor, as our favorite and most trusted You Tube creator, I would love to see a video on how you would do your makeup for outdoor portraits (engagement, graduation, family pics, etc.) - what products you would use and techniques you would use for the best photos. Neutrogena CC I hated at first but then after I figured out how much to apply (way less than you’d think you’d need) and make sure to really blend it into the skin well it looks so beautiful and lasts so well! I have normal to dry skin more on dry side and usually don’t like matte finishes but this is more natural finish to me and I don’t have to set it, which is what I prefer. Whenever I wear this foundation I always get compliments on my skin and makeup, which never happens any other times 😅 So I’ve started wearing it pretty often!

i bought the covergirl bb cream years ago when you recommended it (it’s really hard to get from where i live so i hold on to every last drop) and oh my god, i ABSOLUTELY cannot live without it! the shade range is a dud, i use shade medium even tho it’s too orange for me. but i will never stop repurchasing it!!! it’s so beautiful on my oily acne prone skin and i always get compliments on it, wish i can attach photos for u to see!

I’m 4’11”, and when I was young, I was told that unless I was taller, I wouldn’t be taken seriously. I’ve worked so hard to push past that taught belief, but it comes back sometimes. Taylor, thank you for going what you do. When I feel insignificant, I watch you and remember that height doesn’t matter! We can be leaders in our profession even if we haven’t broken 5”! It’s how we carry ourselves! Thank you for always reminding me.

The CoverGirl Clean Matte BB Cream is my go to foundation right now! I have combo leaning dry skin and thought a oily skin bb cream would look awful, but this one looks GREAT on me. It stays matte while looking very skin like, especially after a layer of setting spray. I apply it with a sponge and find it gives the best finish for me. I agree it does dry down quick, so working quickly or in sections is the way to go. It isn't FULL coverage, I would say medium to high with two layers, but it somehow gives me way more coverage than some of the high end foundations I've tried. I definitely recommend it to anyone considering giving it a go.

The new Revlon foundation mixes so well with other foundations since it’s more sheer. Basically it adds a glow and some blur. Also it looks so natural on it’s own mixed with a lotion spf.

I'd love to see a review of the KVD serum foundation :) I believe it's in their "good apple" range, but it runs SUPER pale, so you definitely wanna check out darker shades than usual. I haven't gotten to actually test it out yet, because I want to shade match in person but the stores near me only had shades that were too light. I'm usually in the fair category (occasionally fair-to-light/light, if a foundation runs really pale, in summer), but the "medium" shades the employees at Ulta tried on me were too light. It felt super lightweight and nice on the skin though! At least when freshly applied lol

I tried the Joah BB Cream based on your recommendation recently and while I do think the formula is nice, the fair cool shade is SO dark!!! I have this problem with so many Asian bb creams (and sometimes complexion products in general), which sucks because the formulas are usually great. I feel like in general for most foundations, if you’re somewhere in the middle shade-wise it’s somewhat easier to find matches, but if you’re at one end or the other you just have to cross your fingers that brands make shades that are fair enough or deep enough!
If you can squeeze it, it’s not a bottle. It’s a tube. 😂 From one ♊️ Gemini to another, I love your little quirks.
My skin is changing as I age (62, and you inspire me!), and every foundation I have ever used e v e r gets either sucked in by my skin and disappears within 10 mins, or looks like I used a palate knife to apply it. Too sheer, or too thick and gross. I haven’t been able to find a happy medium that doesn’t make me feel like I want to take it right off. My skin was oily when I was younger, but I’m more combo to dry these past few years.
I’ve recently been using 3 things recommended by you (I think): Green Tangerine dark spot corrector, Cerave hydrating cleanser, and the physicians formula matcha cleansing balm. Also I was a big fan of rose oil, but I think it’s becoming too much, so I’ve been skipping it the past few weeks.
Anyhoo, I do pay attention because we Gems notice everything … but then we forget why we went into a room, and spend long frantic minutes looking for our phone when it’s IN OUR HAND 😂🤣😂 see, I get u.

For the benefit of others who (like me) have dry, sensitive skin: the Neutrogena CC cream and the Joan products are fragrance free. The CoverGirl product has fragrance ( foundation has fragrance (ethylene brassylate.)
It makes me mad that CoverGirl calls a product "clean" but puts fragrance in it!
I have extremely oily skin and that clean matte and the kosas oil tint are the best I've ever found for oil control still.

Hi Taylor! Have you tried Laura Mercier tinted moisturizers? They are rated pretty well. Also I've been loving Dermatology tinted sunscreen, it's supposed to be similar to Elta MD but it's less expensive. Thank you for another great video!

I feel like the smashbox halo product is glowy but fully sets down too and it's so long lasting. I do wish it had more coverage or could build up to more coverage.
I wasl ooking through Amazon and thought wouldn't it be great if Taylor did an all Amazon makeup look! I have two recommendations and they are etude blur SPF 33 and focal lure cream stick blush. Amazon also has Kilo Milano bronzers which I loooove 😍
I found the Purito BB Cream through you and it is the ABSOLUTE BEST skin product. It is so, SO good!
Another brand worth trying is Glo Skin Beauty - they’re a smaller brand based in Denver, but are incredibly underrated. Most of their stuff (skincare and makeup) is geared towards sensitive or acne prone skin but the formulas are amazing, and a big chunk of my makeup & skincare is now from them. I’d love for you to review them!
